Vince Imbat, Los Baños, Laguna Vince Imbat is a philosophically-inclined translingual writer, poet, and photographer who walks the streets and dirt roads of Laguna and Pangasinan in search of narratives and truth. On his website vinceimbat.com, he publishes The Long Walk, a weekly newsletter about the intersection of philosophy, photography, poetry, and walking. He came to poetry via Tungko ng Tula, a nine-week poetry course conducted by the late Batangueño poet Rem Tanauan at the outset of the pandemic in 2020. Vince writes poetry in Pangasinan as a humble contribution to reviving the literature of a dying Filipino language. Vince is also a fellow of Saling Panitik 2019: Ikalawang Bienvenido Lumbera Seminar-Palihan sa Pagsasalin.

‘Di na namin kinuha ang mais na ibinilad nami sa kalsada
dahil kuwan
umaambon na at nariyan na ang malakas na ulan
dahil kuwan
meron daw atang super typhoon
at kuwan
dito dadaan ang mata niya mamayang gabi.

Wala man lang naman kasi kaming maski kariton na paglalagyan
dahil kuwan
sira na ‘yong kuliglig na hinihiram namin kay Marlon
at kuwan
wala kaming pambayad sa sino mang may sasakyan
dahil kuwan
tagsalat.

Ipambalabal mo na ‘tong tuwalya
