Adonis Gonzales is a faculty member at the College of Education, West Visayas State University, Calinog Campus. He is also a passionate writer of binalaybay (poetry) in Hiligaynon and Kinaray-a. His honors include the Leoncio P. Deriada Award for Poetry and Flash Fiction at the 20th San Agustin Writers Workshop, Dungug Kinaray-a 16, and Peter's Prize for Poetry. A fellow at the 23rd IYAS La Salle National Writers' Workshop, his work has been anthologized in 17 Halin sa Iraya: Poems from the Bantugan sa Panulatan Kinaray-a and We Begin in Awe: Close Encounters with the PSN Corpus Critical Essays, and has been featured by Kasingkasing Press and Panay News.
